Both are 100% ABV. The difference is taxation and intended use. Undenatured 200 proof is subject to federal beverage excise tax (~$27/gal) because it's drinkable. SDA 40B has trace tert-butyl alcohol and denatonium benzoate added to make it undrinkable, which exempts it from excise tax and drops the per-gallon cost dramatically. For any non-ingestible use, fragrance, cosmetics, hand sanitizer, lab solvent, cleaning, SDA 40B is the cost-effective choice.
